For this image I was experimenting with the number of characters I could fit into an image. I have taken over 2000 photos of this scene trying to get it right, so I hope you like the result!

Here is the first image of my newest model, she is based off of a model I made for my dissertation to be used in a larger illustration.

An unusual walk

Went on a walk and took a selection of models with me to experiment with them in an outdoor setting including my latest maquette. These are some of the resulting images.

Snapshot

I realize I haven't updated recently so here is a snapshot of my workbench at the moment. I am working on an illustration of which I am pushing the number of models that can be present in the image without the illustration becoming too crowded or just a photograph of 'dolls'. These are the characters for it that I have finished at the moment, still a lot of work to do yet!

Dissertation - Sculptural Illustration Experiments

The work I have done for my Dissertation experiments with outdoor settings for sculptural illustration. I also experimented heavily in how to design and make the hair for each model, looking into string, thread or just using Sculpey or plasticine.
